Chris Hastings

Chris Hastings has many years experience, practising as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in Toronto, Barrie and Muskoka.

He has served as a consultant in provincial hospitals, institutions and continuously as a private practitioner encompassing general care, surgery and orthotics.

He has been a community leader, serving as an executive of the Cancer Society, Crime Stoppers, Kinsman, his professional organizations and a consultant to many charity walks.

Laura Desjardins

Laura’s Podiatric Medicine practice concentrates on well-rounded management and treatment of foot and ankle conditions. She treats conditions relating to dermatology of the foot as well as overuse injuries, sports medicine injuries and general foot pain. Her approach to foot pain treatment relies on rehabilitation-based principles. She has a Kinesiology degree, certification in soft tissue release and has experience with running/ repetitive overuse foot conditions. She has represented Team Canada for Cross Country and completed many continuing education courses in sports medicine. She has taught continuing education at the University of Saskatchewan and has treated elite athletes including Olympic medalist in track and field. She is a passionate about helping others get back to health.

Monday: 10am – 3:30pm
Tuesday: 2pm-6:00pm
Wednesday: 12pm – 6:30pm
Friday: 9am – 2pm

INITIAL VISIT TO OUR CLINIC

As a new patient to our clinic, here is what you will experience:

Chair Assistant, Jackie, will greet you and accept your health card (O.H.I.P) and identification of your home address. In addition, she will need your phone number and e-mail address and, if possible, the name, address and fax number of your family physician.

The practitioner, will ask about your foot health — your general health — past surgeries — current medication — sensitivities and allergies. He will then examine your feet and ankles by — first the skin — then circulation — neurologic tests, then musculo- skeletal strength and range.

Diagnosis
The result will be reviewed with you and options of care discussed.

Prognosis
The course of care selected after discussion will be decided and expected results and ongoing care explained, including fees.

Treatment
General podiatric care — basic care of nails — corns and callouses will be cared for at this visit. We also offer treatment options which include cortisone injections, orthotics, rehabilitation program, injury prevention, gait analysis and access to platelet rich protein injections for more chronic conditions.

A fee of $80.00 is assessed for this service.
